Slot Timber Wolf

Game overview

Timber Wolf is an Aristocrat slot with a wildlife theme. A howling wolf leads the symbol set, alongside a bearded trapper, a bear, a deer and an owl. The online version is listed as released in July 2022. It uses the Reel Power system on a taller grid than the classic 243 ways games, which gives more ways to connect symbols, and the free spins add multiplying wilds in the same style as Pompeii and Silk Road.

Rules and how wins are paid

The grid has five reels and four rows, and Reel Power gives 1,024 ways to win. Wins are paid for matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left, in any row. There are no paylines to choose.

Symbols

The howling wolf is the most valuable symbol. The bearded trapper follows, then the bear and the deer. The low pays are K, Q, J, 10 and 9. The owl is the scatter that starts the bonus.

Special features

Reel Power

Every combination of positions across the reels counts as a way, so a symbol appearing more than once on a reel multiplies the number of ways that pay.

Multiplier wilds

In the free spins, wilds on reel 2 carry a 3x multiplier and wilds on reel 4 carry a 5x multiplier. A win that uses both is multiplied by 15.

Free spins

Three or more owl scatters trigger 12 free spins. The multiplying wilds on reels 2 and 4 are the main attraction, as a single spin with both in play can pay many times more than the same symbols would in the base game. Landing three or more owls again during the round retriggers it.

Bet settings, bonus buy and RTP

There is no bonus buy. The stake runs from 0.40 to 80 per spin. Published RTP figures for Timber Wolf differ sharply between sources, so we do not quote one here. Check the help screen in the game you open, and remember that casinos may run lower RTP versions.

How to play, step by step

1. Choose your stake between 0.40 and 80.
2. Spin and look for matching symbols from left to right across the 1,024 ways.
3. Land three or more owls to win 12 free spins.
4. Hope for wilds on reels 2 and 4 to stack up the multipliers.
5. Collect your total when the bonus ends.

Tips before you play

With a minimum bet of 0.40, this game costs more per spin than many older Aristocrat titles. Make sure your stake suits your budget, set a limit before you begin, and stop when you reach it.
