Slot Zorro

Game overview

Zorro is an Aristocrat slot that began on casino floors and reached online casinos in October 2014. It brings the masked swordsman to the reels with cartoon style graphics, alongside his black stallion, the girl Juliana, her father and a red dress. The look is a little dated, but the bonus structure is one of the more varied in Aristocrat's classic range.

Rules and how wins are paid

The game uses five reels, three rows and 25 paylines. Wins pay for matching symbols along a line from left to right. The ZORRO bonus requires an additional bet on top of the 25 line stake.

Symbols

Zorro is the most valuable symbol and five of him on a line pay 5,000 times the line bet. The other picture symbols are the girl, her father, the black stallion, the red dress and a barrel, with card ranks as the lower pays. Zorro is the wild and the horse is the scatter.

Special features

Zorro wild

The masked hero replaces every symbol except the scatter, and he is also the game's top line pay.

ZORRO letters

When the bonus bet is active, letters appear over card symbols: Z on reel 1, O on reels 2 and 5, and R on reels 3 and 4. Spelling ZORRO across all five reels starts the bonus.

Gamble

Wins can be gambled, and a losing gamble forfeits the amount at stake.

Free spins and bonus

Spelling ZORRO leads to a random bonus selection. One of the outcomes is a free spins choice where you trade spins for multiplier size:

• 5 free spins with wild multipliers from 5x to 15x
• 10 free spins with wild multipliers from 3x to 8x
• 15 free spins with wild multipliers from 2x to 4x
• 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier

Other outcomes include a cash prize, a short set of free spins with Z symbols held in place, and a pick style game.

Bet settings, bonus buy and RTP

There is no bonus buy, although the extra bonus stake is needed to collect letters. Review sites list slightly different RTP figures, so check the help screen in the game you play, and remember that casinos may run lower RTP versions.

How to play, step by step

1. Set your coin value for the 25 lines.
2. Decide whether to add the extra bonus bet to activate the letters.
3. Spin and collect Z, O, R, R, O across the five reels.
4. Play the bonus you are given, choosing a free spins option if offered.
5. Collect your winnings or try the gamble feature.

Tips before you play

Without the extra bet the ZORRO letters do not appear, so factor that cost into your budget before you decide. Set a limit in advance and stop when you reach it.
